On 7th January 2021, during the inauguration ceremony of the President elect Nana Akuffo-Addo and his Vice, Dr Bawumia, the Speaker of Parliament (Mr Alban Suman Kingsford Bagbin) mistakenly honoured Bawumia’s alleged first wife Ramatu Bawumia instead of Samira Bawumia as the second lady of the 4th Republic of Ghana.

The Speaker of Parliament mentioned names of dignitaries that were present in attendance which led to the name mismatch.The Speaker later retracted saying “this was the name that was presented to me” and he immediately addressed the 2nd lady correctly.

Rumours have been going round and this got so many people sharing their views and opinions about the incident that happened at the inauguration. This got one gentleman on Facebook by name Stephen Kwabena Attuh in disclosing that whoever that submitted the list of names wants Ghanaians to know the other wife of the Vice President (Dr Bawumia).

He states; “As soon as I heard the name Ramatu Bawumia, I knew the person who submitted the list to the Speaker wants Ghanaians to know something. Who composed the list”.

Below is the remarks by Kwabena Attuh;

According to speculations around the alleged Mrs Ramatu Bawumia, she is said to be the first wife of Vice President Dr Bawumia but she’s not in the public domain as compared to the Second lady Ghanaians do know of.

She also runs her own business in Walewale while Samira Bawumia takes up the duty of the Second ladyship to grace their husband.
