Ghanaian broadcast journalist and news presenter at GHOne TV, Serwaa Amihere has announced that she doesn’t consider marriage as the most important thing in life.

Serwaa who won the Television Female Newscaster of the Year Award at the 2018 Radio and Television Personality Awards, argues that there are more important things that deserves her attention so being single at 31 years should not be a big deal.

Her announcement is to respond to those who criticized her for her failure to find a husband when she celebrated her 31st birthday on 8th March 2021.

Taking a screenshot of one of the comments under a news portal post on Facebook where one social media user was asking her when she would give birth especially when she is still unmarried, Serwaa Amihere said she prefers to be single and unmarried than to rush into an unhappy union.

“Everyday go and marry! As though it’s the most important thing in life. You’ll be pushing women to end up in unhappy and abusive marriages. Smh” She wrote

After this post, Serwaa Amihere had a comment from one blogger who said until she is married everything she has acquired and achieved is meaningless.

Serwaa Amihere was clearly not happy with the comment from the blogger and advised him to refrain from thinking that marriage is a woman’s honour.
