Breaking: 20 year old and a police personnel gun down on the streets of Brooklyn

According to the Associated Press, the family identified the victim to a crowd gathered near the scene. The family told a crowd that 20-year-old Daunte Wright was shot by police getting back into his car and driving away, then crashing the vehicle several blocks away.

The family of Daunte Wright said he was later pronounced dead. The Star-Tribune reported that paramedics arrived to the scene at 1:48 p.m. and found one person dead.

According to EMS audio, a police officer was also transported to the hospital after sustaining injuries.

Police say one child who’s name is on hold was walking down Malcolm X Boulevard around 10 p.m. when someone in a vehicle fired a shot, striking the boy in the chest.

Law enforcement sources tell News 4 the boy was able to run into a nearby liquor store after he was shot to call for help.

He was rushed to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Police haven’t released further details about who was the intended target.
