What seems like a fake Twitter account impersonating former Blacks Stars coach CK Akonnor broke his silence over his sacking.

Though we will soon realize that it was a parody account, many football-loving fans were drawn to the words in the message which communicated that the Black Stars will not qualify for the World Cup.

Apparently, this Twitter user was playing a prank on Ghanaians by hiding behind CK Akonoor’s identity to drop a rather interesting Thank You note.

It reads: Thank You Ghana, But you won’t qualify for the world cup.

Unsuspecting Ghanaians reacted with sarcasm and rage to these words. Many thought it was actually coming in from CK Akonnor especially when he wished doom for the Black Stars because he has been ousted. That was actually a parody account.

Meanwhile, the official Twitter handle of CK Akonnor has expressed profound gratitude to Ghanaians for the opportunity to serve as the Head Coach of the Black Stars.

CK Akonnor was appointed in January 2021 following the sacking of Coach James Kwasi Appiah. He took charge of 10 games, won 4, lost 4 and drew 2. The Ghana Football Association upon a review of his recent World Cup Qualifying match against South Africa which the team lost decided to show him the exit.

CK Akonnor was sacked together with his two assistants. However, CK Akonnor in his Thank You note has thanked President Akufo-Addo and the people of Ghana for the opportunity to serve.

”I’m grateful to H.E President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,the Sports Ministry,my former boss Kwesi Appiah, the leadership of the GFA, colleagues I worked with, players and Ghanaians for the opportunity to serve. Wishing the team all the best. Thank you Ghana,” he wrote on his official Twitter page.

The GFA will name his replacement in the coming days.
