Ghana’s Otto Addo says he doesn’t care about what is happening to Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United ahead of Ghana’s meeting with Portugal on Thursday.

Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United was mutually ended following his fiery Piers Morgan interview, in which he criticized the team.

The European country will be the Black Stars’ first opponent at Stadium 974 on Thursday night.

Otto Addo asserted in a press conference prior to the game that the Black Stars are unconcerned with the 37-year-old’s issues with the Premier League team.

“I don’t know, and to be honest, I don’t care. It’s not our problem and I don’t think it’s a big problem,” Addo said at the pre-game presser.

“Everybody wants to win. No matter what happens, it’s a big stage, a big game at the World Cup level, so I don’t think normally this can disrupt anybody.”

Following their match against Portugal on Thursday, Ghana will play South Korea on November 28 before finishing the group stage against Uruguay on December 2.

After the team’s disappointing performance in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana will be looking to start their World Cup campaign on a high.
